Aarjava Welfare Society from its very inception has been working continuously for the downtrodden people of remote areas of Bengal. Despite a lot of impediments and counterchecks, we have been steadily moving towards making a world beautiful for the people who are deprived of even the basic facilities of life. In this journey, we have reached out to the children suffering from thalassemia. Now, on 26 November, 2022 we have endeavoured our journey towards a new goal. We have organised a breast cancer awareness and free early lump detection of breast screening camp at phase IVB Community Hall, Golf Green. The first day has been inspiring with a lot of voluntary presence. Mr. Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, actor and president of Aarjava said, 'The dream with which we started Aarjava will go ahead, despite all the obstacles we face. We step into a new endeavor from today. And we will be moving ahead and this is what we promise ourselves.' Secretary Chiranjib Goswami has said, 'We want to ensure a safe and healthy world for women. For the growth of society, health of women are of utmost importance. That is the point where we have initiated this effort.' Actress Mithu Chakrabarty has said, ' Aarjava has always been working for social causes. They face a lot of hindrances. Yet their spirit is indomitable.' Speech about awareness on breast cancer given by Prof. Dr. Aloke Dasgupta, HOD, Department of Radio Oncology, Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research and S.S.K.M Hospital, Kolkata followed by a free breast lump detection screening by lady technician of SUADHA NGO, Mumbai.

Aarjava Welfare Society organized a Thalassaemia Awareness Camp on Septemnber 16, 2022 in Jalpaiguri district where. the speaker was Dr. Debmalya Bhattacharyya, hemato-oncologist from Kolkata followed by distribution of new garments and sarees among more than hundred underprivileged children, poor old men & widows before festive days. Young people were also given a free premarital screening test to check for thalassaemia carrier status. In addition to the aforementioned events, the society also organized lunch for all beneficiaries.

On a calamitous day many common people came to make the Thalassaemia Awareness Camp a success and sixty two people voluntarily donated blood in Blood Donation Camp to make this initiative of Aarjava a success in presence of eminent renowned persons of society.

Like yesteryear this year also Thalassemia Awareness Camp organised by AWS where the speaker was Dr. Debmalya Bhattacharyya, Hemato-Oncologist, Kolkata followed by new blankets / winter garments distribution program near Dum Dumi Primary School area in at Bagmundi block of Ajodhya hill top in Purulia district, West Bengal on 3rd December 2021. Family-wise 100 blankets handed over among underprivileged people of Dumi Dumi & Chetanbera village including few beggars of the area by the Secretary of AWS Sri Chiranjib Goswami and by Sri Sudip Chatterjee, Sri Raja Chakraborty, Sri Ram Krishna Basak - the members from the Society.

Like yesteryears this year also under the partial restriction situation in West Bengal due to pandemic Covid19; Aarjava Welfare Society took initiative for distribution of New Garments among underprivileged children and Sarees among needy elderly widows in remote villages of Nadia district of West Bengal on 2nd October 2021, Saturday before the festive season. Sri Chiranjib Goswami (Secretary), Smt. Anita Roy (Asst. Secy.), Sri Sourajit Das, Sri Raja Chakrabarty, Sri Ram Krishna Basak of AWS handed over the materials to approximate 150 numbers of beneficiaries.

Like yesteryear this year also under new normal situation a Thalassemia Awareness Camp organised by AWS where the speaker was Dr. Debmalya Bhattacharyya, Hemato- Oncologist, Kolkata followed by new blankets / winter garments distribution program at Belpahari Block of Jhargraam district, West Bengal on 5th December 2020. 150 blankets handed over among underprivileged people by Raja Chakraborty, Arup Kumar Pal, Chiranjib Goswami & Ram Krishna Basak the members from the Society.

Like yesteryears this year also under the new normal situation after complete lock-down due to pandemic Covid19 Aarjava Welfare Society took initiative for distributing New Garments and Sarees among underprivileged children and needy elderly women in remote villages of Birbhum district of West Bengal on 17th October 2020, Saturday before the festive season. Sri Chiranjib Goswami (Secretary), Sri Bhaskar Chatterjee (Treasurer), Sri Sudip Chatterjee (Asst. Secy.) & Hirak Sengupta (Member) of AWS handed over the materials to approximate 200 numbers of receivers.

During the lockdown period throughout India due to pandemic COVID-19 (Corona) few districts of West Bengal devastated by severe cyclone „Amphan‟. In view of situation observed in Sundarban area of South 24 Parganas „Aarjava Welfare Society‟ moved for relief work on 6th June '2020 with essential commodities as aid for the homeless & affected underprivileged people in different villages under Mathurapur Block – I. Tarpaulins, Mosquito Nets, Clothing, Soaps, Candles, Match boxes, Sanitizers, Face masks, Sanitary napkins along with dry foods like Flattened rice, Sugar, Mustered Oil & Baby food/Milk Powder, Biscuits has been handed over by Bhaskar Chatterjee, Sourajit Das, Chiranjib Goswami & Ashmit Chatterjee; the members of Aarjava to 100 nos. of needy families of different villages. In addition Rice, Masoor dal (pulses), Muri, Salt packets, packaged mineral water bottles also handed over to a community kitchen arranged by a local welfare society for daily meal of approximate 1000 nos. of Amphan victims there in Raidighee Assembly area of WB.

A 3-day long Drama Fest organized by Aarjava Welfare Society for giving financial support throughout the year to underprivileged Thalassaemic children at Niranjan Sadan, Bijoygarh from 17th to 19th January 2020. Sabitri Chatterjee in presence of Sri Aroop Biswas, Hon’ble, Cabinet Minister in charge of Public Works Dept., Youth Service & Sports Dept., Govt. of West Bengal, Sri Tapan Dasgupta, Chairman, Borough X Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Smt. Tanushree Shankar, Sri Arindam Ganguly, Sri Gaurav Chakrabarty, Dr. Debmalya Bhattacharyya (Heamto- Oncologist) & President of AWS Sri Sabyasachi Chakrabarty. The welcome speech given by Sri Chiranjib Goswami, Secretary of AWS followed by an opening song by Smt. Aitijhya Roy & Sri Sourya Chowdhury. The three leading theatre group of India - Charbak (prodn. „Bheeti O Shubechchha‟, Laed actors Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Arindam Ganguly, Kheyali Dastidar, Gaurav Chakrabarty), Purbo Paschim (prodn. „Potol Babu Film Star‟, Lead actors Sanjib Sarkar, Chhanda Chatterjee) & Sayak (prodn. „Bhaalo Lok‟, Lead actor Meghnad Bhattacharya, Aruna Mukherjee) participated in the festival. A wrap-up speech has given by Sri Meghnad Bhattacharya. Aarjava Welfare Society also handed over donations to three nos. of poor Thalassaemic children from different districts of WB; naming Sraboni Debnath, Khurshid Alam & Santanu Sardar respectively in these festival days too. 7th October 2018 - Aarjava Welfare Society organized an event to distribute New garments, Sarees among under privileged children and old women of poor backward class of three villages naming Kamarpara, Roypara, Schoolpara of Pathankhali Gram Panchayat, Basanti Block, District South 24 Parganas before the Durgotsab 2018. The society took initiative of distributing Sanitary Napkins too among young women of that area for awareness purpose also. All the materials handed over to the needy by the members of Aarjava Welfare Society.

12th May 2018 - Aarjava Welfare Society‟ organized a Thalassaemia Awareness Camp & Token financial support program for under privileged Thalassaemia & Leukemia Patients from entire West Bengal. Aarjava Welfare Society is relentlessly working for the underprivileged sections of our society. One of our endeavour was distribution of winter garments to 65 families from the poorest of the poor section from the tribal at the Sonahara village, Ayodhya hills, Purulia district on 26th January 2018. A great number of people have died here in cold-wave experienced in the month of December 2017. We have cherished the little smile we saw on their faces after whatever we could provide them with our limited capabilities. We have distributed clothing to approximately 100 persons from the backward community as well.

On September 24, 2017 Aarjava Welfare Society organized a Pre-Durgotsab event for New Cloth Distribution among under privileged children of an interior village of Kamarpukur in the District of Hoohgly, West Bengal. The event was organized with the donations collected from the members of the Society as well as from well-wishers. We have distributed new garments to approximately 100 persons from the backward community as well.

Aarjava Welfare Society feted International Thalassaemia Day – The 8-MAY 2017 by giving medical as well as financial help for their treatment and education of sixteen under privileged Thalassaemic patients from different districts of West Bengal. Which was handed over to them by veteran Actor, Director, Theatre personality Sri Dwijen Bandyopadhyay in presence of Kolkata Municipal Corporation Chairman of Borough – X; Sri Tapan Dasgupta. Sri Arindam Ganguly & Smt. Kheyali Dastidar - noted actors and actresses, directors & theatre personalities were also took part in the event. The event was successful by the wholehearted presence and participation of the people of Golf Green & its adjacent area along with the members of AWS & press-media too.

Kheyali Dastidar, Actor/Director/Theatre Personality Sri Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and other distinguished guests. Common people from the locality and from adjacent area along with President of Aarjava Welfare Society Mr. Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and other members of AARJAVA has taken part in the voluntary blood donation camp as well as in free Health checkup & patient care program organised by Aarjava Welfare Society.

The second step towards "A Thalassaemia free healthy world" was a bit bigger step of arranging a socio - cultural program, on 25th June, 2016 at Rabindra Sadan, Kolkata which is centered on the curse of this mankind Thalassaemia. Aarjava Welfare Society reaches out to some of the spirited kids who are affected by Thalassaemia and are from the lowest income segment of the society. They have been handed over a token amount of money to support their treatment and to give them the confidence that Aarjava Welfare Society is beside them for any further requirements with all their strength. This program will also be remembered for the glittering presence of some kind hearted yet eminent persons from the society, naming a few of them Sri Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, President, Aarjava Welfare Society, Sri Arindam Ganguly, Sri Meghnad Bhattacharya, Dr. Prabodh G. Dhar Chakraborty, Retd. IAS, Smt. Kheyali Dastidar. On this evening a play based on awareness of Thalassaemia jointly performed by the members of the Charbak Theatre Group & Aarjava Welfare Society followed by the memorable singing and poetic program by Sri Srikanta Acharya, Smt. Lopamudra Mitra and Sri Srijato Bandopadhyay.

Aarjava Welfare Society (AWS) took their first step of the journey towards eradication of Thalassaemia from the society with the pledge "A Thalassaemia free healthy world" and join hands with a well-known organization “The Thalassaemia Society of India”, who are relentlessly working to eradicate Thalassaemia from this society for almost last 3 decades. On 7th May, 2016 as a joint program with The Thalassaemia Society of India on the eve of the "World Thalassaemia Day" (8th May, 2016), Aarjava Welfare Society (AWS) reached out to few under privileged Thalassaemia patients who are kids with token help to give them some relief.
PROJECT 01
In September, 2014 Aarjava Welfare Society (AWS) took an initiative towards welfare of street children in the area of Barrackpore, Khardah, Sodepur under the district of 24 Parganas (N). Under this drive many street children have been handed over books, new clothes for their better living, they have been inspired to go to school and to continue their studies against all odds.
